“Responsibility, The Skill of Today” by M. Athanasiou
On 17 October 2021 a CSR Tribute was published in Kathimerini’s K by Maria Athanasiou, with statements by Maria Alexiou, Chairman of the Board of CSR HELLAS and Alexandros Kostopoulos, Deputy Director of CSR HELLAS, on the CSR-School Executive Training Program that took place this year for the 3rd consecutive time, and the Student Competition for CSR “Nikos Analytis”, which this year completes its 6th implementation.
According to Mr. Kostopoulos:
“Challenges such as climate change, the energy crisis, and the pandemic have made sustainability a mainstream concern today. The Sustainable Development Goals are effective, but the transition we are called upon to undertake is monumental, and it affects all sectors. To expedite and improve our progress, we must integrate responsibility and sustainability comprehensively, both horizontally and vertically, across all levels of education and in all subjects of study. We need to change our approach to production, consumption, and the education of future citizens, but most importantly, we must alter our own behavior and operations.
Partnerships are also essential: businesses should collaborate with each other, the academic and educational communities, and civil society. Various international surveys indicate a skills deficit necessary to support this crucial transition. This is where our focus should lie, and this is what we aim to achieve during the three-year implementation of the CSR School.”
